[.02] Board Shorts
8 07 2008
Marc Jacobs – $290
Face it. You hate your legs. Or for whatever reason it is.. you insist on wearing these ridiculously long board shorts. Unless you’re Kelly Slater or at least 6′4″ you shouldn’t be wearing board shorts. Opt for a shorter cut and don’t pick up the Hibiscus printed shorts please. Go simple, unless you’re loud and obnoxious… why should the only piece of clothing you’re wearing at the beach be loud and obnoxious as well? Unless thats your idea of being flashy? Here’s a hint. Unless you’ve been sculpting yourself into the form of a Greco-Roman wrestler over the winter… you shouldn’t be flashing ANYTHING at the beach.
Don’t throw the board shorts away though, give em to your girlfriend/wife. Women look pretty hot in board shorts.

[Endorsed] Davines Invisible Paste
8 07 2008
So I was spending the day with my lovely sister and she was telling me about her trip to ave a haircut. So… she went to 19th street in Manhattan to get her hair cut by the Creative director at Vidal Sassoon, she look s fabulous by the way. But I think the best part that came out of it was the hair product she discovered there.
Davines Invisible Paste (or Invisible Pasta). She loved it, and introduced it to me. For those of you who don’t know I sport a faux-hawk 90% out of the time. I tried a bit of this stuff, my god, it is amazing. I can’t begin to describe it, I’m talking flexibility, control and it makes your hair defy reason without becoming untouchable. It’s a miracle product.

[.02] I Hate The Summer
7 07 2008
Okay.. that’s a bit harsh. I don’t hate the summer, I like it. The beach, the sun, tanning, barbecues…. but I love clothing, the more the merrier. I love the Fall/Winter/Spring, that’s when you can bring out all your accessories, layer your shirts and sweaters, bring out that scarf you’ve been dying to wear, gloves, hats and boots. You just can’t do any of that in the summer. Especially in New York, the weather just won’t permit it.
Now, I went shopping a few days ago, bought some Long Sleeve V-Neck Sweaters (or Jumpers as they would call in London) and several Button-Down Sweaters. Getting a jump start on fall fashion? Yes and No. I’ll be escaping to London this summer and according to several almanacs, the weather in London is similar to San Fransican weather; warm and bearable during the day… cool enough to wear a sweater at night. I’m looking forward to it. Think about it. Weather like such would really have to exercise the style portion of your brain. Having to prep outfits for different temperatures at least two times a day… I’m up for the challenge!
Okay, fine. I don’t hate the summer. Why’s that? That’s when all the Fall/Winter stuff is on sale
So gentlemen, I hope you’re having a grand time on the beach and flip-flopping about the city… but be ready… Fall’s around the corner and I expect all of you to be dressing sharp!

[Fashion] John Varvatos ‘08
7 07 2008
Design Power House, John Varvatos has re-invented the company’s outtake on men’s fashion. Introducing new silhouettes, fluted jackets, flared skirts and using textiles with more texture; this Fall/Winter line is looking mighty impressive. As the designer points out “It’s the return of elegance to men’s fashion”. See the weekender that gentlemen’s carrying… what’d I say people. You have until the end of summer to get your weekenders until it’s too late.

[Cool] This just made my day…
30 05 2008

So there’s a new art installation put in New York and London.
It’s a Victorian inspired piece. Looking to be a telescope that plunges into the ground from London through the Atlantic Ocean and pops out of New York City.
On both ends, viewers can see one another… real time.
Raj? Meet you there for lunch?
– Ant
The Telectroscope will be on display and open to the public 24 hours a day in London and New York until June 15. Artichoke is arranging requests to synchronize special reunions between friends and family or, the company hopes, maybe even a marriage proposal.

[Must Have] Collar Stays
30 05 2008Collar Stays aka Collar Bones, Collar Tabs or known as Collar Stiffeners in the UK.

Your dress shirt should be crisp, sparkling and fit.
Collar Stays will ensure your collar stays straight, perfectly bridged over your tie and anchor your collar as well.
Most shirts come with a pair or two of plastic ones. Invest in a nice pair of metal (usually brass) ones.
Also if you ever need a screwdriver, very MacGyver-007ish if you pull one from your collar

[Law] NY Gov Advances Same Sex Marriage
30 05 2008
NY Governor, David Paterson has given his administration until June 30 to report back with regulatory changes to recognize same-sex unions performed in other states and Canada. This following the victory in California weeks ago.
I’m happy about this. No offense, but it takes a legally blind politician to finally start seeing things correctly?
Now there are politicians and organizations planning to take legal action against the governor and his administration, saying he bypassed Legislature to progress this bill. Bullshit. Fuck you. Let the people do what they want. Its their lives, you over-zealous, cross-bearing, banner-waving nut jobs are fucking stupid. You idiots won’t be living with them, so who are you to say how they should live their lives. Fuck off.
You realize, heterosexual marriages are allowed to over 1200 rights. Same sex marriages won’t get anything close to that. And they say discrimination’s gone…
Marriage, what is it? The union between two individuals who love and care for one another, the biggest step into the pursuit of happiness and the American Dream (or any dream). Law shouldn’t govern who can partake in this tradition. What if law prohibited interracial unions or restricted certain age differences. Doesn’t make sense right? Who has the right to say no you cannot marry someone, hell not even your parents have that right. It’s a personal decision two people make, and the consequences (good or bad) of that decision should be faced by those partaking in it. They’re not causing anyone any harm, let them be happy.
